Some of the comments on here were a bit off-putting, but, finding myself in Bristol, I gave Lads Locker Room a try yesterday. Friendly guy on the door, welcoming; he explained where everything was and apologised for the fact that the steam room was out of order. Disappointing, but the sauna was good; so was the jacuzzi, though the steps up to it were a bit steep. I found the place perfectly clean, though some of the facilities are looking a bit careworn and could maybe do with a refurb. Changing area is not large - not a problem on a quiet Sunday afternoon, but could be when the place is rammed. Given the limitations on space, a lot has been fitted in, including an upstairs room with a cage that I'll enjoy exploring on a subsequent visit. And there's a comfortable porn room - so comfortable that one old guy fell asleep in there! nice bar and chill areas. Certainly worth a return visit.

Having travelled for an hour or so to try Bristol Lads Locker Room, on Sunday 5th August, I arrived around 4pm only to be told by the guy on the door that they were shutting at 5 for 2 hours to clean, opening again at 7!! They have been open all weekend and shut properly at midnight, I'm sure they could have had a quick mop around to last the next few hours. The guy at the door said I could come back at 7 - great, I had to get back home (by train) ready for work on Monday, so that wouldn't leave me much time there as it was a Sunday. The website says "Friday through to Sunday: 2pm then stay open right through till midnight Sunday night!" Evidently not true. Very disappointing! I would love to have given this a better review but so far Birmingham, Swindon, Newport and Cardiff win hands down in the region. Such a shame!

I have always wanted to visit a gay sauna but was too nervous. So one day, I went here with my mate. For my first time, the staff were warm and welcoming; offered to show me around if needed, but I had my friend to show me. Got my towel and locker key, so headed down to the changing rooms, stripped to my jock and wore my towel, well my jock was off quickly. The guys here were friendly, chatting and welcoming for my first time. Nice clean place, jacuzzi was nice, private cabins and plenty of lube and condoms dotted about. The staff were quick to act on spillages or issues raised. Definitely going back ;)

Don't know why I went in by the look of the outside it looked derelict. The reception looked not bad with a well stocked bar. The locker area was tiny and filthy. The shower area floor was also filthy. There were 2 stair cases leading up to darkened areas. This was de get as people kept falling as the lighting was bad. I nearly fell down the stairs.

The cleanliness was probably the top point. Not that it was amazing, but the staff were regularly gong around and cleaning up. There were about 4 people there on the Wednesday night I visited. The lounge area has plaster walls and no wallpaper. No sign saying it's 'under refurbishment' but read the other review to see that there is no speed with it. I wouldn't go back and the website is deceiving, it looks nothing like that. Staff could not even be bothered to say goodbye when I left. One of the guys I talked to said it was an average night.

After a long absence, I paid a visit to Lad's Locker Room in Bristol on Tuesday October 23 2017, the first naked day after what they had proudly claimed on their Facebook page was going to be a "partial refurbishment". They added "WE WILL BE MAKING FURTHER IMPROVEMENTS OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS” i.e. by November 3. A refurbishment was certainly overdue. What had they done, I wondered, as I walked in?   Had they cleaned the place up, I wondered?  Had they tidied away the floor mops and the hose used to top up the jacuzzi? Had they fixed the showers to bare even the slightest resemblance the attractive blue tiled ones displayed on their website? Had they cleaned the jacuzzi? Had they fixed the steam room to produce sufficient steam to keep it steamy? No.  None of these things. When I got there I found that the three showers were still drab and dirty, and one of them was still hanging off the wall, rusting as it had done for over a year. There was still very little hot water, and then only after a lot of fiddling with the geriatric controls, and a long cold wait.  If they had tried to clean the jacuzzi, they had failed. It stank. The switch on the wall that operates the air pump was broken and had to be fiddled with to make it work. The steam room was stone cold. Even after the helpful door man “rebooted” it when I complained, the steam was sporadic and inadequate and required the switch on the wall to be pressed endlessly.  I have been to over 40 gay saunas around the world, and this one continues to have the worst steam room I have ever been in. So what had the owner done while the place was closed for four days? He had knocked a hole through a wall to provide access from the reception area to the lounge area. Brilliant! Why did he bother, I wondered? There was already a perfectly good doorway between the two, about two steps along the same wall. What a waste of time and money. The potential clientele in Bristol must exceed that in Swindon and Newport, because its population is three times as big as either of them, and yet the clientele is a fraction of that in that in those towns. Let’s, for a moment, compare Lads Locker Room to Touch in Swindon. Touch is clean, stylishly decorated, and well maintained, because the enthusiastic young guys who own it know that repeat custom comes from looking after your customers, making them feel that they are valued, and treating them with respect by providing good reliable facilities. They have invested their time and money in it. As a result, customers willingly go back again and again. That is why it is generally busy with guys of all ages, and always so on a naked Tuesday. This is why it it profitable. Consider the Greenhouse in Newport, another clean, tidy, well run, well maintained gay sauna within reach of Bristol. Always packed on a naked Wednesday and plenty busy at other times. When I arrived on Tuesday October 23 2017 after the partial refurbishment, there were two customers. Two. Why so few? Because since the owner bought it, this place has never ever failed to disappoint.  I withheld this review for several weeks to give the owner a chance to finish his refurbishment or at least announce his plans to do so. He has not, so I can only assume Lad's Locker Room remains awful and that the owner has no intention of improving it. [to the owner], I understand that you are targeting the drunken late night weekend crowd. Perhaps that is why you don't care that Lad's Locker Room looks like a pig sty. Perhaps late on Friday and Saturday is when you make your profit. You cannot possibly do so at any other time.  I have been there at all sorts of times, and the place has never been busy. [to the owner], why don't you do yourself a favour, by thinking about your customers? It is directly in your financial interests to provide a clean, well decorated, fully functional gay sauna. So far you have failed miserably, and it is only because there is now zero competition in Bristol that Lad's Locker Room is still drizzling along at all.  What a waste of a facility! [to the owner], where is your pride? Where is your business acumen? I CHALLENGE YOU to respond.

Awful place. Met a guy who was just as keen to get out of there.

I have been a frequent visitor to the sauna both during the previous management and the new management. This evening I visited and the person behind reception refused to put my pannier bag behind the counter. I explained that it will not fit in the locker and there's never been an issue with staff in the past. I did try and I wouldn't fit. I returned to the reception area and asked if you he could please put my bag behind the counter, his reply was if everyone wanted a bag put behind the counter there would be no room. I asked for a refund, he said I would have to wait until he completed a cash transaction to which I agreed. Whilst I was waiting he continually made sarcastic remarks to me, for example he said 'does this mean because I will not put your bag behind the counter you won't ever come here again?' Another comment he made was 'have you had good day until you came here?' I'm astonished at the rudeness when I've been a loyal customer. Obviously not someone going to rush back with this attitude.

This place is dirty, empty and outdated. I can not recommend it to anyone and the reviews under here are clearly of the facility itself.

In the week very few Poeple and though not perfectly cleaned. Better than nothing ....

Well I didn't pick up it was Friday afternoon, staff are friendly. I was only in the sauna for 1 hour had to catch train.

Nice staff but the place is dirty, outdated and empty. Can not recommend.

I visited on the 4th, place was dirty, one young member of staff trying to do everything with 2 drunks making it a bad situation for the customers, I did a review to Facebook on this and got no reply so I will do it on every site I can. One guy can't run a sauna alone and you need cleaners and even security, stop trying to skimp and spend some money!

Visited here 8/01/17, this place is disgusting and filthy, mold on the walls and the stench coming from some rooms was unbelievable, stayed less than 5 mins, when I complained I was told it's wasn't his problem and I should leave. Travel half an hour to Newport sauna, spotless and always bust.

Fantastic. I visited last month and found a guy who I fell in love with. I hope to visit again for another tasty snack soon.

Fun, vibrant place to attend! I would Highly recommend for gay males of any age to come and be social and maybe meet a man of your liking! Certainty to pick up young gorgeous men after the clubs shut. Or just for the spa facilities always a good time at the Lads Locker Room! #LLR

Popped down for a small visit some time last weekend. I'd never been to this particular sauna, but I have to say, I had an amazing night. Not only were the staff well presented and perfectly friendly to me, the sauna itself was nice and fresh. Clean floors, clean beds and the just smelled fresh in general. On top of that, the atmosphere between staff and customers alike is so refreshing and welcoming, everyone had a good time and got on perfectly.

Visited this sauna staff absolutely friendly and amazing very helpful unlike most other saunas in the UK. BEST NIGHTLIFE GAY SCENE IN UK UH MAzing fit guys good looking and a treat for evreyone

I don't visit sauna's that often but every time I've been to L.L.R staff have made me feel comfortable, the venue has been very clean and I had a great experience every time, I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Wow what a difference ! These people have it spot on! Came in not expecting much but to my surprise was hugely impressed. I mean the staff were friendly and promptly helped when lost of key and forgot my number.. ups! I blame vodka... which is another bonus.. great bar and no too expensive either. everywhere is nice and clean and the hot tub is amazing.. with a good age range and no just us oldies! certainly becoming a regular.. cant go wrong for £6 during the day !

After reading all the comments I was in 2 minds to go or not. But i'm glad I did, the venue is nothing like described it was clean, tidy and well looked after. The staff where lovely and might I add it was packed. I visited on Saturday at 2am - 4am and there was quite easily over 100 men / lads in there. Since then I have become a regular and never disappointed. The staff will bend over backwards for you (no pun intended). Just goes to show why its the last sauna left in Bristol and judging by the reviews i'm assuming they were writing my its competitors.

Went a few weeks ago on a Sunday morning; waste of time - me & one other guy in there. Sauna was out of order, jacuzzi closed, nothing else happening. Place feels old and dirty - and not in a good way!! Stayed got an hour maybe then went home - suggest you do the same!

Wet, sticky and foremost, dirty floor. Screws are coming out of the floor, there is hardly any tiles left around the jacuzzy. The steam room was out of order, and the showers are just simply disgusting. There is hardly any corner left that is not covered in dirt. It is honestly spoken far more than filthy. If you want to stay healthy and if you want to have a relaxing experience, stay away from this place. It's not at all an Eldorado for fun or relaxation seeking gays, but diligent cleaning ladies must be more than happy there. Minus ten points.

My first visit and found the staff so lovely and friendly. Very clean and so much room and drinks not expensive. My only disapointment was I did pull but I will have another go

Was shy the fist time I went there, had a look at the beef but left frustrated. For a st8 guy, whose always been bi, I need somewhere to relax, feel no pressure, then start to seek other similar fit guys. The last time I went I saw some nice bodies but wasn't ready. The place and staff were good, plus the wifi is always a good ice breaker! I'm going tonight as my wife is away. I'm more equipped & tonight psyched up for some grinding. See you there lads. Tyler

Visited on Sunday afternoon my first time in a gay sauna. I was very impressed the staff were great and showed me around so I got undressed and went for a Jacuzzi first after showering I went upstairs to explore and found a glory hole maze some glory hole cubicles and private rooms one with a cage and one with a swing, also a cinema room showing old gay movies. On up again is a crusing room and a large room with a large swing. Well after a while I sat in a private cubicle with my towel off and it wasn't long before I was joined buy three others and we had a good session. It doesn't look anything like the pictures on website but I for one will be back and soon, fab time.

Since the Refurbishment i was AMAZED at the cleanliness and the look of the facilities. Also, the staff are incredibly sweet, handsome, well mannered and the common courtesy of the staff is outstanding. The prices are reasonable and compared to the other sauna in the Bristol, this is the one to choose. Lads Locker Room is the place to be for relaxation and EYE CANDY!
