Pattaya may be a fun destination but its gay nightlife scene is be for everyone. These go-go bars in Sunee Plaza can offer an enjoyable time, but the experience can be surreal, as their emphasis is firmly placed on getting you to buy more than a drink.

Many of these well-established venues commonly use the word "boy" in their names to imply young adult male workers. The actual age of these "boys" are often questionable, as some do look under-aged. If you are in doubt, insist on seeing a photo ID.

Be aware that prostitution is illegal in Thailand (although it is also fair to say that this law is largely ignored - so long as the person involved is over the age of 18).

Male workers in Pattaya are known to be honest, trustworthy and deserve to be treated with respect. However, as in any other city in the world, be careful with your valuables, especially if you invite a stranger back to your room.
