Relatively large budget hotel Pomping Tower offers great-value rooms in central Chiang Mai, just 10 minutes' walk from the popular Night Bazaar, shops, restaurants and several gay bars.

Each bright, air conditioned guest room features an en suite bathroom, floor-to-ceiling windows, satellite TV, free WiFi. The hotel has a nice pool with sun loungers, two restaurants and a bar.

Massage service is offered at the hotel, though we think you may be more tempted to visit the gay massage spas in the area.

Buri Gallery House offers Thai-Lanna rooms with free WiFi and private balconies in the heart of Old Town, close to some of Chiang Mai's most famous temples and the popular Sunday Walking Street.
