The most luxurious resort on Samet and a perfect choice for romantic couples or if you just want to chill out in peace. Paradee is set on a stunningly beautiful, completely private, soft sandy beach lapped by crystal clear water. The service is exceptional from arrival at the dedicated check-in lounge on the mainland to your departure. Their beachfront pool villas are highly recommended. The resort is located at the southern end of the island, a 20-minute drive to the gay nightlife at Silver Sand Bar (500 baht each way). But once you're here, you're probably not going to want to leave.

The best of the three resorts on the beautiful Ao Prao Beach, Le Vimarn comprises individual thatched 'cottages' with private balconies. Le Vimarn has a fabulous spa, a big infinity edge pool set in mature tropical gardens, two good restaurants and provides guests with an "at seat" service on the beach. We've stayed here many times, so you can guess it is one of our favorite resorts. Ao Prao Beach is on the west coast and benefits from wonderful sunset views and flat calm waters. It is 5 minutes by taxi jeep over a bumpy road to Silver Sand bar. Free WiFi.

Ao Prao Resort is located just behind what is arguably the nicest beach on Koh Samet. The resort offers comfortable, mid-priced cottage-style accommodation, set in mature tropical garden and just steps for the beautiful sandy beach and crystal clear water. The resort has all the facilities you need, including a swimming pool, restaurant, spa and massage service. At night, you can get to Silver Sands bar by taxi jeep in about 5 minutes.

The gay-favorite choice on Koh Samet. Tubtim Resort is conveniently located on the beachfront of Ao Tubtim, and just a 10-minute walk to Silver Sand Bar and a huge range of restaurants. Various room types are available, from budget bungalows to upscale villas. The rooms feature flat screen TV's, air conditioning, private bathrooms and balconies. The resort's seafront restaurant is a gay-popular destination in its own right, serving excellent grilled seafood, authentic Thai as well as Western menu. Besides dining, gay guys like to hang out, play volleyball or sunbathe here. Book your room well in advance as the resort's often fully booked.

A popular choice on Travel Gay Asia. The great-value Samed Pavilion Resort is located just 40 metres from Ao Phai beach and next to the gay-popular Silver Sand Bar at the Silver Sand Hotel. Guest rooms have free WiFi, air conditioning, satellite TV, fridge and minibar. The resort has a nice pool with sun loungers and a restaurant.

Silver Sand Hotel is located on the popular Ao Phai beach. There is a great choice of restaurants, bars and cafés within easy walking distance. The Silver Sand Bar is a very popular open-air nightclub/bar and the destination of choice for most gay visitors who fancy a night out. The resort offers great-value, air-conditioned rooms. The beachfront rooms have great sea views but are close to the bar/club area. Lighter sleepers should opt for the garden rooms.

This is one of the most popular upper mid-range hotels on Samet. Set on the long sandy Sai Kaew beach, the resort is about a 15 minute walk from the gay-popular Silver Sand bar. Excellent facilities include 3 outdoor pools, 2 beachfront restaurants and gym. Traditional Thai massage are offered on the beach as well as a range water sports and beach activities. There are some good beachfront restaurants nearby. Modern en suite guest rooms have either views of the sea or garden, free WiFi, air conditioning, satellite TV, DVD player and minibar.

Perhaps the most popular hotel on Ao WongDuean. This great-value resort has a nice, quiet swimming pool, good restaurant, and is located just a short walk to a quiet part of the beach. Each guest room features comfortable bed, satellite TV, minibar, electric kettle. We recommend upgrading your room for a quieter night’s sleep. Canoeing, snorkelling, jet-skiing, para-sailing and other activities can be arranged upon request. Vongdeuan Resort has a check-in booth near the bus terminal at Ban Phe wharf and offers free roundtrip shuttle boat services from Ban Phe to the resort (the boat operates twice a day).

Located on the secluded Ao Wong Duean, just steps away from the beach, the Samed Cabana resort offers affordable, private bungalows with tropical surroundings. Each bungalow has its own balcony, en suite bathroom, fridge and safe. Free WiFi in public areas. The resort features a freshwater swimming pool and an open-air restaurant overlooking the sea.
