T's Pub is the most recent addition to Ottawa's gay village.

T's has a serpentine bar, a lounge area and a lively front patio - good spot to meet some locals.

It offers regular DJs, some drag shows and pub food. You'll sometimes find the locals watching a game on the big screen.

T's is friendly and down to earth -  it's not the kinda joint where half-naked bar staff pose and ignore you.

Located in Byward Market, this is a great gay bar to try after a hard days work or shopping. The balcony offers excellent views of Parliament Hill.

A range of excellent cocktails are on offer. There's karaoke every Tuesday and Wednesday should you need to lighten the mid-week blues. At the weekend you'll find regular drag shows.

Check their Facebook for one-off events - such as Lady Ga Ga parties and Rue Paul reruns.

Swizzles is a down to earth gay bar in Ottawa known for its karaoke nights, stand up events, game nights and inclusive vibe.

If you like your gay bars attitude-free then this is a good choice. The people here are very clubbable so it's a great spot to meet some locals.

Situated in the heart of downtown Ottawa right by the gay village, it's in an ideal location.
