The Red House Complex is the crowning glory of the city’s gay scene and is home to an extraordinary number of diverse gay bars and clubs. It’s here that youll find 80s-themed discos glittering alongside steamy cruise clubs, as well as a friendly and welcoming local gay crowd. There is a noticeably liberal atmosphere in Taipei and it's not unusual to see same-sex couples wandering hand in hand through Ximending’s rainbow-lined streets.
