May Wong (1905 -1961) was the first Asian American actress to become an international star, with a career spanning both silent and sound films, TV, stage and radio.

May Wong's Café is a fitting tribute to this pioneering actress. Its Oriental yet English-influenced décor is adorned with pictures of May Wong from the films she starred in.

Launched in 2007, PLAY was a gay nightclub with themed parties and international guest DJ’s. In February 2014, their venue in Tanjong Pagar was closed.
